I am devoted to creating resource networks and accessible information for individuals with brain injuries and those who support them. As a veteran with the requisite knowledge and understanding of brain injury, I was asked to implement the beta test for Oregon’s first official veteran brain injury screening tool.
I conducted veteran brain injury screenings for the first time in the state of Oregon in September 2022 at events like the Washington County Veteran Stand Down and Portland Veteran Stand Down. Being the only person in the state to utilize the veteran brain injury screening tool allowed me the opportunity to present my perspective on the data before a senate committee for the endorsement of Senate Bill 420—signed into law by the governor in September 2023.
Beyond my advocacy, I serve as an advisory board member and veteran liaison for Brain Injury Connections NW (BIC-NW), an organization steadfastly dedicated to providing essential resources and support to those affected by brain injuries.
Balancing the roles of a dedicated spouse and hands-on mother, I bring a positive and empathetic approach to all my interactions. Currently, I am pursuing a graduate degree in speech-language pathology to excel in understanding, treating, and increasing awareness about communication hurdles in brain injury survivors, promoting better support and inclusion.

Senate Bill 420 Celebration
Who runs the world? Girls! (At least that's what Beyonce says)
The passing of this bill would not be possible without the behind-the-scenes and boots-on-ground contributions of my awesome colleagues at CBIRT, Megan Jones (Senior Research Assistant) and Katherine Nichols (Mother Of A Survivor).
